The Eggless Egg-ception

Eggless has been a favourite of mine since high school. My friends and I would line up for an hour to get inside but it was oh-so worth it.

Ken would guide us to a table and take his time to explain the menu no matter how busy they were. He would then proceed to give everyone a fist bump on our way out. These small gestures gave me an immediate sense of familiarity and belonging, it's what I love about small, local businesses.

It was such a treat this time around, to finally meet the woman behind it all, working her magic in the kitchen. Whether it be vegan, gluten free, or eggless, Eelin can whip up anything just the same. There's no other place that can cook up creations as unique as these, and what better time to experience the best of Eggless than by tasting their October menu , voted by the customers themselves?

Famished Fridays: Let Them Feast

Let Them Eat was the first place that made me appreciate vegetarian food, and dare I say, had me hooked on my first bite. They were at the forefront of the wholefood trend when it started to emerge in Adelaide, and for good reason.

Tanya and Danielle have crafted beautiful, rustic dishes full of heart and charm. Their portion sizes are as generous as their prices. I promise every meat lover out there that you will feel deprived of nothing at Let Them Eat, good food is good food, it can be enjoyed by anyone and everyone.

I was terribly sad to hear that their Croydon store was closing, so I chased them up for an interview. I'm so glad that I did, because now I know that it wasn't the end of anything, it was the start of many wonderful things. The team is ready to move forward and I can't wait to see what they have coming up next.

Famished Fridays: Inside Jenny's mind

I, like many, was guilty of only discovering Jenny's Bakery when the cronut train rolled around. When you step inside their doors however, cronuts are not the only delectable gems that draw your eyes to the counter. Within a few minutes, you know that you need to come back, if only to try every other mouthwatering treat you've set your eyes on.

It was such a pleasure to meet an owner like Enzo, who dares to break away from tradition in order to bring something new to the table. When he spoke of his long, early hours at work, there was not a single sign of bitterness or fatigue, he said it with love and a great big smile, an energetic and upbeat, "I love it." Need I say more?

This is a man you can trust to provide you your precious sugar fix.
